TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – The remains of the seven people on board the ill-fated Chemtrad plane are arrive here last tuesday (April 21). after they were extricated from the jungles in Baggao town late afternoon (April 20).
Cagayan Valley police head Chief Superintendent Roberto Damian, said that the bodies were already at the landing zone and ready to be transported any time today if the weather permits.
The remains are expected to be brought to Camp Adduru here for formal identification.
Those on board the light aircraft were Captain Tomas Yañez and his co-pilot Captain Ranier Ruiz, and their passengers councilor Abelardo Baggay, SPO2 Rolly Castaños and Celestino Salacup, all from Maconacon, Isabela; barangay chairman Joel Basilio of Sapinit, Divilacan town, also in Isabela; and James Bakilan of the Divilacan local government.
The said Islander plane they were riding had crashed in remote Barangay San Miguel in Baggao town while on its way to Maconacon, Isabela from Tuguegarao airport last April 2.
The planes wreckage was only discovered last April 14. |
