LA TRINIDAD, Benguet?Affordable carrots and vegetables a preferred by major vegetable markets in the country prefer Baguio and Benguet grown vegetables. This was the result of a two year study conducted by the Benguet State University (BSU), according to Jennelyn Tabancura, information officer of the institution. She said, the study,?The Ideal Vegetable Attributes Based on Consumer Preferences: A Conjoint Analysis Approach,?by Maria Azucena B. Lubrica, Darlyn D. Tagarino, X. Gellynck, J. Viaene, Beverly B. Gumihid and the late Marie Klondy T. Dagupen with 342 respondents for carrots and 363 respondents for cabbage from Central Luzon, CAR, Visayas, NCR, Ilocos Region and Mindanao. Prof. Val Macanes said Rocky Mountain Coffee, a Canadian company has now entered into a partnership with BSU regarding the coffee venture. LA TRINIDAD, Benguet?The Benguet State University (BSU) on instructions of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo is studying the possibility of a land swap with the provincial government of Benguet as relocation site for victims of Typhoon Pepeng. Dr. Rogelio Colting, BSU president confirmed this move in an interview over the week. CAMP BGEN OSCAR M FLORENDO?Two days after the shooting incident, police have arrested the prime suspect in the shooting of a Pangasinan Commision on Election (Comelec) official over the week. Superintendent Michael Nicolas, head of Special Investigation Task Group (SITG) Villalba, identified the suspect as Eusebio Batawag Ventura, 43, a resident of Barangay San Patricio of Sta. Maria, Pangasinan. He was arrested on Thursday, January 7. Nicolas disclosed that the victim, Juanito Villalba, in an ante-mortem statement, said he recognized the face of his assailant as that of a certain?Ventura,?the husband of one Ofelia Madiam.  (continue)
