THE PROFESSIONAL Regulation Commission Baguio Regional Office is now accepting applications for the April 18, 2010 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) until the deadline on February 12, 2010. BAGUIO CITY?Aside from the wage or employed sector, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) also provides livelihood assistance to the informal sector workers, especially the ambulant vendors and small entrepreneurs. DOLE-CAR Labor Employment Officer III Leonard Doguil explained that DOLE is providing help to self?employed workers, in terms of raw materials and equipments, so as to help them increase their production and primarily to increase their income for their families. The Essential Health Care Program (EHCP) being implemented by the Department of Education has been recognized as one of the world?s best practices in primary health care among school children. The award was bestowed by the Global South-South Development Expo, a United Nations-wide annual event. It was handed out in ceremonies at Washington DC, USA last December 17, 2009. The Fit For School Inc., a partner of Deped in implementing EHCP has been selected as one of the three winning Southern solutions to be exhibited and awarded at the Global South-South Development Expo 2009 for its innovation. Violeta Salda, BSU project Manager of the university?s vegetable noodles project said, a total of 23,775 students from the region will benefit from this project, benefiting 7,028 students from Abra, 5, 494 students from Apayao and 11, 253 and 11,253 from Kalinga. Yap became an honorary brother to the Cordillerans and honorary President of the Cordillera Indigenous Elected Women Leaders?League when lately he was bestowed the honors by the CINDEWOLL officers and other Cordi officials. In a ceremony held at the Manila Hotel 2nd week of December, 2009 the adoption process of Don Yap was well attended bringing together some of the most revered lady officials of CAR as hosts and some equally known and respected people from CAR and other places as guests. With the Office of the President Chorale playing musical renditions and numerous personalities in attendance, the program was a superb Christmas party for CINDEWOLL as well. (continue)
